Just wanted to see how others are handling large pbix files and then uploading them to powerbi? Let us say you have a 1gig file, what is your process on loading it to PowerBi. Do you basically only upload the file once a month? Or do some of you upload it nightly?
Just trying to get some best practices.
Solved! Go to Solution.
The current limit for a data model (smaller than overall .pbix, but usually the dominant portion of file size) is 250MB in Power BI Service.
The typical use case is to upload a .pbix file once or rarely, and to depend on scheduled refreshes to handle it from there.
If your data model is larger than can be accomodated in the Power BI Service, you might need to explore DirectQuery or Live Explore with a SQL or SSAS source, respectively.
