Hello,
PBI desktop has three different "views" that can be selected from the left - Report, Data, and Model.
In the Report view, I'm able to create a table or matrix visualization and copy individual cell values.
When I view the table in the Data view there are two "copy" options when you right-click a cell - Copy and Copy table.
When I click Copy I end up copying the entire column and Copy table copies the entire table.
Is it intentional to not have the ability to copy single cells in the Data view?

Hi, @MorePowerBI ;
Another way is tranform data then in power query .

This is a simply missing and much needed feature. The current "Copy" option would copy the entire column, so really it should be properly named "Copy column" alongside the existing "Copy table". Please add a new option named "Copy" or "Copy single value" which does exactly what the name suggests, and it will be a life saver especially in copying out long/complex text strings - imagine those hexidecimal ids!
Other workarounds don't work well for the purpose. For example Power Query ("Transform data") would allow copying single values, but it only shows a preview of 1000 rows. Also filtering isn't as convenient as in Power BI Desktop's "Table view". Another workaround would be to use the DAX query view, but then how can you filter to the specific row if you don't have the filter value copied first?
Such a simple and small desire! Sometimes I think that they does not use the tool they provide! I just want to copy the value from the cell I´ve selected on a table! Jesus!

@MorePowerBI yes this is how it works, not to copy the cell but the entire column or entire table. To copy a value for a cell, you need to first filter and then use the copy function.

This approach doesn't work. It will copy the values displayed in the entire column
@parry2k, how do you filter to a specific value on the drop down menu if you can't copy and paste the value from the table?
for sure! This is absolutely needed for data cleansing and other reasons!
