How do I upgrade pbixs to the newest version

I have the newest version loaded. However, when I open an old pbix, I don't see the latest interface.

I can open the new version and reimport all my data--but that seems a royal pain.Upgraded PBIX.pngOld PBIX.png

Hi @sonisick

It is very strange, I have files from 2017 and checked them now, they are opening with a new version having all the options.

I recommend checking if some older version of Power bi desktop hasn't stacked on your machine.
It can happen if you download from the Microsoft store one and another downloaded from the power bi website.

And maybe this older option is opened as you opened a pbix.

Other method
If the report has been published you can download it from the service and it will open as a new version of the desktop.

if not publish it to "my workspace" or something like that and download it.

Hi @sonisick ,

Please set the correct default open application for .pbix files on your computer and make sure it is the latest version. Or drag and drop your way to the latest desktop.

Hope it helps!
