How do I get updates in Power BI Desktop?
When I open Desktop there is an update message in the lower right-hand corner. When I click to download it nothing downloads. Instead it takes me to a screen witha button to download Desktop. Do I have to download and install Desktop every time there is an update if I want the update? And when I do click to download Desktop, it doesn't download the msi, it just goes to a screen where it keeps circling and never does anything.
With your current installation, you will need to manually update each time a new version of Desktop comes out. An alternative is to obtain Power BI Desktop from the Microsoft Store, which will automatically and silently update for you.

And by manually update you mean download and install the latest version of PBI Desktop?
The initial solution was helpful and most of the answer to my question. I sent a follow-up question that I could use a reply to as well. The solution was that in our current configuration we would have to manually update when there is an update to Power BI Desktop. My followup question was to clarify what you mean by "manually update." Does that mean downloading and installing the whole new version of Desktop, or is there some other "update" process that can be used? Thanks.
