How do I get the advanced data color options for shape maps?

I'm trying to format my data colors by rule, but I don't see the option for advanced settings? Is this not an option since shape maps are still a preview feature?

  • have you considered switching to the new Visualizations pane options? this setting is now called "Fill colors"  but it also only has a basic color picker dropdown  (at least in the latest version of Power BI Desktop)

    Hi, Anonymous

There are no advanced settings for the color options of the shape map.

In the Fields pane, drag a data field that has geography names (or abbreviations) onto the Location bucket, and a data measure field into the Color saturation bucket. Currently, you must also have the Color saturation bucket set in order for the Legend classification to work properly.

You can submit an idea for it at https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums and wait for users with the same needs as you to vote for you to help make it happen as soon as possible.

This is the relevant document, hope to help you: https://docs.microsoft.com/power-bi/visuals/desktop-shape-map#creating-shape-maps
