I am trying to connect to an Access Database that is password protected. No go: I have already put in a request for this (last year) and wonder if it is in the features pipeline.
Actually, you can. Just follow these steps:
- Go to Search (on the taskbar) and search for 'ODBC'
- Create a new ODBC Access data source linked to that particular .mdb file
- Go to Power BI, "Get Data", and select ODBC
- Select the ODBC data source you created, and a screen will prompt, asking for the password
- Enter the username and password of the database, and you are done
There is no username...only password.
Thank so much.
This's so helpful.
Hi Team,
Can you please share the information regarding the above query.
Thanks,
Mohan
Hi @Bucksy,
Password-protected Access database files are still not supported. I am afraid that the feature is not in the pipeline, if Power BI team has plan to add this feature, some feedback will be sent in this idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/10517454-add-connection-to-passwo... .
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
