Hello, is there a way to remove the sorting symbols from the column headers?
I'm referring to the carrot symbol shown below:
Thanks in advance.
In Power BI Desktop, I found that if I remove the sorted field from the "Rows" area in the Visualization data, and then put the field back in the "Rows" area, the little sort indicator will disappear.
Thank you annadeak! Removing and adding back into Rows did work in the matrix visual. After publishing, the sort arrow was not visible either. Thank you for sharing!
Hi @andres6and8,
Currently, there is no option to remove the sorting symbols from the column headers. You can add it as an idea on Power BI Ideas to improve Power BI on this feature. ![]()

I haven't seen a way to turn this off unfortunately.
You cant turn that off, but a possible workaround is to create a calc column that provides the desired ranking/order and then sort your field by this calc column. Of course, a user won't be able to change that the way the carrot allows for quick changing of ascending/descending order.
