How can I create a checkbox?

Hi everyone,

I have a strange request. I want to be able to create a table with a very basic checkbox functionality that basically doesn't do anything more than tick/untick.

I have the following table visual:

and is based on data that looks like this:

I want the user to be able to click on the checkbox and change it from unchecked to checked. I'm not sure if it is possible and if it is, I am unsure if the solution would be by having two separate columns, or by using icons and conditional formatting or by using the checkbox as text within a calculation.

Any pointers would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

  • ditoparker Yeah, that's likely to be a pain. You could have each button only affect the selected visuals (the two swapping buttons for each row). That should prevent any issues with slicer interactions, etc. but, yeak, you're going to need like 80 buttons.

ditoparker Maybe two buttons with two bookmarks that only swap out which button is shown versus which button is hidden?

Thanks for the idea Greg_Deckler , would I have to create a couple of buttons for each row? (in my original data I have something like 40 items in the list, and the list is dynamic - affected by slicers)
