How can I create 1 visualization with 2 options to see ?

Hi all,

I'm just new to Power BI - and I'm now trying to utilize Power BI for my team and it's amazing ! 🙂

But I have 1 question to ask about visualization

My requirement is 'to let my team see 1 visualization with 2 perspectives' - for examples,

PBI1.png

PBI2.png

As in the picture above, I would like to see export/ import volume in 2 perspectives - Scatter Plot & Filled Map

Due to I have limited space, I don't want these 2 perspectives as separated graph but I would like to have one graph with a button for users to click whether they would like to see Scatter Plot or Filled Map

So is there any functions that can be used/ satisfy my requirements in Power BI ?

Best Regards,

Suthra

Yes, you can do it, but it is not easy.

1) You have to create a bookmark for the graph and a bookmark for the map in the same page. Bookmark is like a screenshot of the page, so when you create a bookmark for graph, for example, you need to have, in the page: graph, white button for "filled map" and orange button for "scatterplot". Moreover, the four images of buttons must be one above the other: orange button on the white button and, in the menu bar, you need to click on "view" and to select "selection pane" to hide white button for scatterplot and the opposite for map.

Instead, when you create a bookmark for the map, you need to have, in the page: map, orange button for "filled map" and white button for "scatterplot". At the same way before you need to hide button white and to show orange for map; the opposite for scatterplot.

All these bookmarks have to be in the same page. Important is that buttons are images, beacuse images are the only ones where you can use a link.

2) Now, you have to select image of white button "scatterplot" and link with bookmark for graph, so when you click on white button power bi select visualisation with scatterplot. In the same way, you have to do with image of white button "filled map". You link it with bookmark for the map. At the end it should work!

I hope it's all clear,

Ciao
