How can I Update License key for a custom visual in Power BI

How can I update license key of "financial reporting matrix by profitbase" custom visual for multiple pages in power bi at a time?

I am able to manually update license key for custom visual in each page it is present in Power BI report. Can someone please help me how to bulk update license key for a custom visual, where multiple pages in Power BI reports using that custom visual?

Hi @Tevakoni ,Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

There is no direct built-in feature to bulk update the license key for custom visuals across multiple pages. But there are some workarounds to streamline updating the license key for a custom visual in a Power BI report.

  1. If the custom visual is already updated on one page, you can copy it and paste it onto other pages. This will retain the updated license key.
  2. If the visual is present on multiple pages, consider duplicating the entire page that has the updated visual. This can be done by right-clicking on the page tab and selecting "Duplicate Page."
  3. If you have access to Power BI REST API, you can write a PowerShell script to update the license key programmatically. This requires some familiarity with scripting and the Power BI API. The script can iterate through all the visuals in the report and update the license key for the specified custom visual.
  4. Create a template report with the updated custom visual. Whenever you need to create a new report or update an existing one, start from this template. This ensures that the latest license key is always included in new reports.

@Tevakoni  I've found this blog from another custom visual vendor. Hopefully it may work in your case too. Otherwise contact the vendor.
