Hi PBI community !
I use the (microsoft bing) Map visual to show the data of a DAX measure (calculate function).
My city dataset is composed of a Code Insee column (national identification code) categorized as City; City column (LibelleCommune) -- categorized as City, LatitudeWGS64 and LongitudeWGS64 respectively categorized as latitude and longitude. The size of the bubbles is determined by a DAX measure (calculate function).
The visual doesn't properly place a city named GRIGNY (France). There are two GRIGNY, one near Paris (Insee code = 91286) which I will call GRIGNY 91 and one near Lyon (insee code = 69096) with I will call GRIGNY 69. The correct GRINGY i.e. the city in the dataset is GRIGNY 69.
Although latitude and longitude are correct for GRIGNY 69, and used in the visual in the dedicated fields (see picture below), the map misplace the data--> as you can see, GRIGNY is misplaced near Paris. Moreover, if I look for GRIGNY 69's code Insee in the filters Panel, it does not appear. It is "as if " "GRIGNY 91" erases GRIGNY 69 from the dataset, although GRIGNY 91 is not in the dataset. Moreover, the data of GRIGNY is correct, but localization is wrong.
If I replace the location field LibelleCommune (City) by CodeInsee (national identification code), then GRIGNY 69's data is neither placed at GRIGNY 91 nor GRIGNY69. if I look for GRIGNY 69's insee code in the filter panel, it is missing as well. see picture below.
I also tried to add the city filed below the insee code field (see picture below), but it doesn't work either.
If insee code field is above city field then neither GRIGNY 69 nor GRIGNY91 appears + inseecode doesnt appear in the filters panel.
if city field is above insee code field then GRIGNY 91 appears +insee code doesn't appear in the filters panel.
Has any of you faced the issue ?
thanks in advance for your time !
Best regards
Gaëlle
Hi Ibendlin,
I tried to add such a field but it did not work, it seems relationships interactions are the source of the problem...
You can raise an issue at https://issues.powerbi.com . If you have a Pro license you can consider raising a Pro ticket at https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/support/pro/
Do you have a "departement" field in your data that you can declare as "State/Province/County" ?
Hi Ibendlin,
I don't have such a field and I was thinking of adding a "[City], [Region], [Country]" field. Would you say I should rather add a département field?
Yes. Whatever differentiates the locations (apart from lat/lon).
