Highest storage usage per month (max?)

I would like Power BI to tell me the highest storage usage (in GB) per month per customer.

 

My data offers:

 

  • filename
  • entry date
  • removal date (if it was removed)
  • file size
  • customer name


I can easily calculate (with measures) the net storage difference per day per customer and sum up all net differences per customer. By listing all the daily sums of the file sizes per customer in a calendar, I can see the maximum storage use and the corresponding day(s), but I can't figure out how I get Power BI to tell me the storage volume used per calendar month.

 

The max or maxx function doesn't seem to do the trick, as they apparently need a column to work.

 

Creating a new calendar table with the cumulated storage usage per day (rows) and per customers (columns) allows me to use the max function, but I have to create this table first manually.

 

Any thoughts on how I should approach this?

    What is this for, capacity cost calculation?  You don't really need to know the additions and deletions but just the maximum amount of storage memory that was used at some point in the month?

     

    Slightly related:  Oftentimes such questions can be answered much easier by plotting the data on a visual.  Trying to find the right formula is actually more complex.

      Yes, it's for a kind of capacity cost calculation and, you're right, my only interest is the maximum amount of storage memory at some point in the month. The additions and deletions are the data from which this maximum can be aggregate.
      I agree a visual could help. I could also conditionally format cells for cumulated storage usage to easily spot the maximum.

      Since these approaches seem simple, I had hopes I could easily manage to let formulas tell me the maxima.
