Hi all, hope you are doing ok. Quick question here.
Is possible to create a Hierarchy in one column? For example, if you have this table (very summarized. It has more fields, like dates for example) extracted from MS Project online:
Task_____OutlineLevel
Task1______0
Task2______1
Task3______2
Task4______2
Task5______3
In this case, Task1 is the primary task and Task2 depends on Task1, and so on. A linear dependency.
The thing is if it is possible to show this in different levels in a visualization, so the user can Drill Down in the OutlineLevel 0 and see the tasks inside Task1.
Any insight would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Andy.-
You should be able to just drag Task 2 into Task 1 in your Fields area and create a hierarchy as you describe.
Hi @Greg_Deckler, thanks for that quick response.
I think I'm not following you. "Task" is a field, so how can a be able to drag it twice (or more times) to the field area in the visualization? Sorry if it is a silly question.
Thank you very much!
Regards,
Andy.-
HI @AndresSalomon,
Current you can't use one column to create hierarchy column.(at least you need two column, parent and child)
For your scenario, I'd like to suggest you split task column to multiple column and use split columns to create hierarchy column.
