Help with excel button in PBI Desktop

Hi All

Please, I need to know how to put a button in PBI Desktop that allows to export a table in SQL to Excel, apart from the 3 dots at the top. This table expands or shrinks with the slicers visible to the users.

I have users who continue to use Excel for their own analysis with PBI tables, but they need it to come with formatting.

Here is an example table:

I appreciate the help.

Regards

Rodrigo P.

    Hi rod_puente ,

Please check that the Power Automate data option for Power Automate visual has a field added.
If no fields are added to this option, then it will encounter your problem.

    Best Regards,

    Hi @rod_puente,

You can manually trigger Power Automate Flow to export data to Excel by adding the Power Automate button.

The data exported by this method is also affected by filters.

1.Select the columns in the table you want to export. Clicking Edit will open the Power Automate session from PowerBI.

    2. Click New to create a new Instant cloud flow.

    3. Click Insert a new step and select Create a CSV Table

    4. Select PowerBI data in the From option

    5. Click Insert New Step again and select Create File in One Drive.

    6. Select a location to save the file.

The File Name option adds a timestamp option so that the file is unique each time the button is used.

The File Content option fills in the output of Create CSV table.

    Then, click save and apply.

    Best Regards,

    Dengliang Li

      Dear Anonymous

I don't have the Power BI Data option. Is there something I need to activate?

      Regards

      Rodrigo P.
