Hi, I need some help.
I created a Query that has (1) record so I could append it to my main Query. The main Query has (48) columns of data, and the new Query I created has (12) --- these 12 columns match what is in the main Query. When I append the Queries together, it is creating a duplicate entry in my table. I've checked the spelling and formatting and they match. I've tried using the a .csv or .xslx as the souce of the new Query. I've even tried creating a table directly in Power BI with the data. No matter what, it creates a duplicate. This happens no matter how many attributes I use. I even tried creating a regular table with one dimension called "P&L Category" and it creates a duplicate (see below).
I am not able to recreate this problem if I create a new Power BI model and create a couple custom tables with the same value. They aggregate properly.
Any ideas on what could be the cause of this?
Has this issue been solved? I'm seeing the same thing when appending several queries. I recieve duplicate values and and when I display the duplicate in a table I only get one row of data.
I have the same issue.
Append two queries to get a single list of data, then remove duplicates, but the new query still shows duplicate data.
If I create a visual table to show the data it does not show duplicates!
But if I try to create a relationship I can't because I have duplicate data.
Hi @Brysonds,
I was not able to replicate this problem.
In your scenario, does duplicates exist in data model after appending? Or just exist in table visual? Have you tried to "Remove Duplicates" in the new query generated by appending?
Also, does these duplicates come from Query1 and Query2? What I mean is in Query1 there existing a value "Cost of Goods Sold" as well as in Query2.
Would you please share the data source source file so that I can test for you?
Regards,
Yuliana Gu
If "Cost Of Goods Sold" is in both tables, then it is only logical that you get a duplicate.
So what exactly is the issue?
Edit: I guess I'm too focussed on Power Query and should take 2 steps further via the datamodel to the Table Visual...
It seems that somehow the 2 values are not exactly the same, so I agree with Yuliana that we need the data sources to analyse the issue.
