Help with Measure to summarize multiple rows (picture included)

Hi,

I'm trying to write a measure in PowerBI that will make the items on the left summarize in to a format that will look like the items on the right. Is there an easy way to do this?

  • Hi Ryanh,

    Here's a solution:

Create a table named TableB, with the following formula:

    Table B=SUMMARIZE('TableA','TableA'[Name],"Balance",SUM('TableA'[Balance]))

Note that I have assummed that TableA is the name of the table containing the input data.

    Hi,

Thank you so much for your help on this! This worked - I couldn't get it to work at first until I made sure to transform the data and made sure the numbers were decimal or whole numbers. At first I had them at text so I was getting an error which made me think the formula didn't work, but it did!
