Help with KPI´s formulas for accounting liabilities against previous periods

Hi guys how are you?

i'm currently working in in a car infractions report. The idea is to be able to have several indicators referring to the administration of the company car fleet. I'm using slicers, and already hace some KPIs for the accumulated, accumulated for the current year, per infraction category, top 10 users with more infractions, top 10 places where infractions are made, etc. 

 

An infraction is always an accounting liability, could you please help me cracking some formulas. The idea is to show a trend, if the quantity or the amount in $ is increasing or decreasing against previous periods. Which formulas and KPI visualizations do you recommend?

 

Column TOTAL is the column where the amounts of the fines are shown, ISSUED_DATE, the date when infractions were made.

Please try out the demo in the attachment that is based your descriptions here. If you need some adjustments, please provide more details.

1. A date table is needed.

2. Create a measure which will compare this month to last month.

Measure =
SUM ( Table1[TOTAL] )
    - CALCULATE ( SUM ( Table1[TOTAL] ), PREVIOUSMONTH ( 'Calendar'[Date] ) )
