Help with Excel Spreadsheet to Power Bi
Below is the data I use to show stats to the staff at our library using Excel. How do I need to format this in order to use it in Power Bi. I want to present more dynamic information to them regarding usage of the technology in our district. I could not figure out how to upload the file here, so this is the best picture I could post without too much blur. I hope my question makes sense.

Anonymous , if these are separate sheets, then you can load and transform them.
If there on the same sheet convert them into tables. When you add to power bi there is an option to add excel table below sheets

Hi Anonymous
The resolution of the attached image is very low, so I couldn't see much (even though I'm using a 34-inch monitor :)).
So I'll try to give some general, universal tips.
The tables that are imported as a data source should be as "raw" as possible.
Unpivoted and very "basic".
If you import the file in the way it appears in the image, you will need to do a lot of transformations in PQ before you can analyze the data.
I'm attaching a sample table that is in the optimal format:Also, recommend taking a look at the linked lectures about starting working with Power BI:

Good luck 🙂

Ritaf1983 The information is public so I can share it. I have put the report in a folder on google. The first sheet is just formated based on the data sheet. The report is not as nice as I would like it to be, but I just can't figure out how to get the data into Power Bi so I can make it more interesting for management to look at. I do not have a data analytics background. Here is the link.Library Monthly Report

Thank you for your answer. Would I break up each item into a seperate tab in my workbook? For instance, Would I put Computer Usage 2023 in its own sheet and put Computer Usage 2022 in a different sheet? Would I do that for each item I am trying to report?
