Help using field parameters to allow report users to change the x-axis of the bar chart

Screenshot 2024-10-29 094518.png I want to have a bar chart where the FDI country name is the Y-axis, and viewers can select CapEx (sum of $), Jobs (sum), and Project Count (represented by count of the NE column). I need help with the DAX or a step-by-step visual tutorial on how to create this field parameter. It is unclear to me if I need to first make measures for Jobs, CapEx, and NE (count of projects). The table is: "2017-2023 FDI"

Here you go:

Yeah, rule of thumb, always create measures for anything, even if it is just the sum of a column.

Project Count = COUNT('Table'[NE])

will you show me how to make the measure for the project count (since I cannot use sum)?

Project Count = COUNT('Table'[NE])

Hi @buddycho

Yes you need to create measures for any calcualtions first.

Otherwise Power BI will treat them as categories.

Here is a step by step: https://www.wiseowl.co.uk/blog/s3054/field-parameters.htm
