Hi all,
I need some help to select the best visual for the data shown in the screenshot below.
I am struggeling with the amount of products giving a jumble of lines in a graph. What is a good way to visualize this type of data?
The collumn names translated it is similar to productcategory, product, year, quarter, #products, avg time spent.
There are 4 categories with a total of 60 products over multiple years and quarters.

Hi @BenJB ,
How is the situation now? If the question has been solved, please accept any responses you find useful as a solution.
As for your question, if you want to clearly see the details of the data by category or by quarter, I recommend using Matrix, which provides more flexible custom rows and columns. If you want to see the data change over time, I recommend using a bar chart or a line chart.

Hi @BenJB - you can try below mentioned visuals with explaination,
Stacked bar chart can display the breakdown of the number of cases (#product) by category or product per quarter or year. You can color-code each category/product to show the total number per quarter while keeping the visualization clean.
also you can add Small Multiples that can plot separate lines for each product or category in individual charts for each quarter/year. This setup allows you to track trends for each product over time without the lines overlapping in a single chart. Power BI allows for small multiples which can be helpful in managing dense data views.
Sparklines in a Table: Another option in Power BI is to use sparklines within a table, where each row represents a product or category and the sparkline shows the trend across quarters/years. This can give you a quick glance at trends without the clutter of a full graph.
Hope this helps in projecting the product information.
