Help creating Parameter - Text will not convert to number

Hello, 

 

I am trying to create a parameter, using multiple columns containing numbers, this being able to use slicers visually to show these figures against values in other columns

 

I have created parameters for other columns that copntain just text without any issues, however the columns containing purely numbers are causing an issue

 

Getting the follwing error

 

 

 

I have only shown 2 of the columns to highlight the issue, but i am trying to use many more columns also

 

I have tried changing the format directly in the data source (Excel file) and have also tried to remove any null values

 

Any help appreciated

    Hi MarkHP2016 ,

     

    Here I create a sample to have a test, however I couldn't reproduce your issue.

    Source = {
    ("Source - AAAAAAAAA",NAMEOF(Table1[Source - AAAAAAAAA]),0),
("Source - Before of  the maintence BBBB",NAMEOF(Table1[Source - Before of  the maintence BBBB]),1)
}

    Please share a sample file with me and show me a screenshot with the result you want.

    MarkHP2016 the two columns you have shown here, what is the data type of these columns? Keep in mind data type and format are two different things. When I asked about data type I mean what is the type of the column in the Power Query?

    MarkHP2016 in your new screen shot, you are not showing the column that you used in the original parameter, so not sure what is the type of those columns.

      parry2k  I've used different columns, but they are just different columns relating to the same problem, on my original screenshot i only used 2 columns to show an example, but the whole issue is for many columns, all with essentially the same type of data

       

      They all contain values (numbers) that are generated from a Vlookup in Excel

    MarkHP2016 This is weird, not sure why? Is it possible for you to share the pbix file, and remove any sensitive information before sharing.

      parry2k  - I've tried to private message you.... it wont let me attach the file, says pbix not supported?
