Help With "A Circular Dependency Was Detected" Error

I have a calculated column with this formula and it works fine:

Uninsured Marketing Designator = IF(LEFT(mv_perfex[clientgroup], 2) = "UI", "True", "False")

I have another calculated column with this formula and it doesn't work:

Uninsured Marketing Quantity = IF ([Uninsured Marketing Designator]="True", mv_perfex[Marketing Quantity])

I am getting this error message:

<pi>A circular dependency was detected: mv_perfex[Uninsured Marketing Quantity], mv_perfex[Actual Premium With Time Designator], mv_perfex[Uninsured Marketing Quantity].</pi>

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Hi, @krichmond 

You can try the following methods.

Uninsured Marketing Designator = IF(LEFT(mv_perfex[clientgroup], 2) = "UI", 1, 0)

Uninsured Marketing Quantity = IF ([Uninsured Marketing Designator]=1, mv_perfex[Marketing Quantity])

Also try:

Uninsured Marketing Designator = IF(LEFT(mv_perfex[clientgroup], 2) = "UI", TRUE(), FALSE())

Uninsured Marketing Quantity = IF ([Uninsured Marketing Designator]=TRUE(), mv_perfex[Marketing Quantity])

@krichmond , seem like Uninsured Marketing Quantity is used in columns that have used to generate this , indirectly

Can you share sample data and sample output in table format? Or a sample pbix after removing sensitive data.
