Heat map with flow map- Flow map to be enabled only when particular network type is enabled

Hello There,

Is there is a way to plot flow map chart onto Heat map? Basically heat map should highlight all the high risk countries whereever we are having the suppliers that are in high risk and with in that each country , we need to plot the high / medium/low risk suppliers. Because with in the each country there is a chance that some suppliers are not in high risk. Icon for high rish suppliers - Red color, Medium risk suppliers = yellow color, Low risk countries = green and whole countires who are all in high rish they are to be plotted in red color as mentioned earlier.

Now the second scenario (flow map scenario), We are having a network as filter (possible values are downstream / upstream). If we select the options from the network filter then we need to connect/link the countries where suppliers having network with other countries (pls. refer the image below where connecting line is drawn from one country to another). So this has to be displayed only when network filter selected. otherwise the scenario one behaviour has to be displayed in map.

We need to display both scenario 1 and 2 in one single chart. Could anyone pls. help on acheving this? Tried all kind of custom visuals from Market place seems like I'm missing out something. Highly appreciating your input on acheiving the solution for this.

Hi @SelviPrabhu ,

Here are some of my personal thoughts on the issues you raised:

1. For the heat map part, you can use Power BI's built-in heat map capabilities or custom visuals like the Azure Maps Product Overview which supports rendering symbols, lines, polygons, and heat maps. You can color-code the countries based on the risk level of the suppliers.

2. For the flow map part, you can use the ArcGIS Maps for Power BI feature, which allows you to draw interactive routes and connect different locations on the map. You can use the network filter to show connections between countries only when selected.

3. You can also refer to the Azure Maps product overview documentation for more information:

Hi @v-yilong-msft Yes we tried the options you mentioned but we need to display both scenario 1 & 2 in one visual only. not in 2 visuals. If you refer the iamge I provided in my post, I want to acheive the same behaviour.

For network filter If I dont select any option then default all networking will be displayed right. I just want to display the networking connections only when the filter value selected otherwise I want to see the scenario 1 behaviour only. Could you pls. check on this feasibility and confirm?
