Heat Map with custom image layout

Hello,

Do we have any Heat Map visual available in which we can upload a custom layout image and plot our data points.

Any leads will be appreciated.

I have seen this link in which a developer had created a custom visual way back in 2015. I suppose it is now deprecated as its is forked from Microsoft/PowerBI-visuals-core which is now deprecated.

I need a visual which is close to this. Any ideas/suggestions to achive this?

Thanks,

Prateek Raina

  • Hi prateekraina,

Based on my research, this custom visual should be updated to the latest API, and still available. You can download the latest release here. :smileyhappy:

      Hi v-ljerr-msft,

Thanks for responding. I tried as you instructed but i think something is wrong with this visual as i am getting weird results.
Can you please try out this visual at your end with this sample data.

I am using image of a floor plan of a building as background image. Image size is 701 * 743.

        Hi prateekraina,

Here is the test pbix file for your reference.

By default, the sum of X and Y value will be shown on the visual. So you may need to show max/min of X and Y to get the expected result. :smileyhappy:

Hi prateekraina v-ljerr-msft Heat intensity is same on different data value. Can it be changed depend on the traffic in each X,Y coordinates. I am getting same each for diffrent points even when data is different for each data point. Note: i have used version Version: 5.0.0 of this visual from git.

    Thanks
