We are in the middle of setting up our BI services and running into an issue and can't find anything directly that seems to help, so hopefully, someone here could have a solution or a better way of doing this.
prerequisite - We have a VM with a Local Express SQL server, Power Automate running to pull report data from an RDP SAAS provider of ours (The only way for us to get the data out of the system to be able to use PowerBI without a lot of manually work ), We also set up a Service User BI@Domain.com with PowerBI premium license to be the central owner of all the reports and dashboards/datasets for production deployment and management. We also have the On-Perm Gateway setup.
The idea behind the Service account is the have control of who has what access and set up a lot of automations for reports.
So far we have all the data going into SQL very smoothly and being able to connect that data to PowerBI works can use all the features to manage the data, the issue comes once we save/publish the datasets, anyone we give access to the datasets most of the tools in PowerBI greyed out, we have 2 people who would need to use the data to make custom reports. The main one is managing relationships. We want to be able to have this date live update on reports so we can do Week by week or day by day once the reports are made.
Any help on this would be great! if I am missing any details please let me know
