Handle InActive Relationships in Charts
I have the below table PlantPerformance and PerformanceTable with SalesOrderID and LineID inside. Inbetween i have two bridge tables made to avoid many to many relationships. Also to avoid inactive relationship, I have given relationships differently as given in below diagram.
Below is the report where I am creating the 1st Donut chart mapping the values from PerformaceTable and below table values are mapped with PlantPerformance table. When I click on the required colors of donut color, the tables are not getting filtered as expected mapping with both the SalesOrderID and Line ID.
How to handle this scenario ?
You may have avoided the M:M relationships but you have created a circular relationship. I am actually suprised Power BI lets you do that. It is probably confused by your bridge tables.
If you need to link tables by multiple fields, use composite keys. If you have to use M:M, use M:M. It's not preferred but also not prohibited. Sometimes it is justified.
