HTML Content visual in Power BI report gives error

Hi All,

We have a requirement in our report wherein we need to display some HTML Content in the power BI Report. We are using the "HTML Content" visual from the App Store

It is working fine in the Power BI Desktop. However, when we publish the report to the workspace, we get the following error (Attached).

I would like to know if anyone has encountered such an error before. If so, what is the workaround.

Also is there any alternative way to display HTML Content in a Power BI Report.

Regards,

Hi @ Champakbhumiya,

I have reproduced your problem in my testing.

This is due to the administrator enabling the /Add and use certified visuals only/ option.

Certified Power BI visuals

There are two solutions.

Solution1:

Contact the administrator to disable the feature that add and use certified visuals only.

Solution2:

Contact the administrator to add the HTML visual to the organizational visual.

Hi @Champakbhumiya - you can check o the Power BI Service has the necessary permissions to render custom visuals. Sometimes, enabling certain settings in the Power BI Admin portal can resolve these issues. If the custom visual is critical for your project, contact the developer or vendor of the "HTML Content" visual. They might have a patch or workaround for the issue you're encountering.

check internally with admin team as the visual is organizational visual to use it or not.

Power BI Service imposes stricter security restrictions compared to Power BI Desktop. This can cause custom visuals that work in Desktop to fail or behave differently when published.

Hope the above information helps.
