HELP! Slicer not matching Data Model

I have an issue with some Slicers in the Desktop version where I've added dummy data to the source spreadsheet to show that the Dashboard updates with the the changes.  It does just fine with other weekly updates.

But I've got a table with Agent Name and their Manager (dim), this is used to slice data from the Fact table.  I added a new name to the Agent table along with a row in the source file for the Fact table.

I have a slicer with Agent Name and a table with data from the Fact table, the 2 are connected by a 1 to Many join.

When I open the Slicer, the new name isn't showing despite showing in the Data Model!

When I clear the slicer, the table will show the dummy name (Bobby Brown) but still the Slicer does not show the same dummy name!

Any idea what might be causing this to happen?

Hi Gao I would like to add some few extra steps for debugging this issue

@Anonymous

1. Check you are pulling the Agent Name from the Dim table into the slicer.

2. Remove the relationship between the Dim and Fact Tables and check the slicer values. Even then you are seeing new values try refreshing the data model. You should be able to see all the Agent Names now.

2. Now again do a relationship between the two tables, notice if Bobby Brown name shows up, if not check the visual level filters or some other slicer would be filtering this filter. Check it using edit interactions

Thanks,

Jai

Hi @Anonymous ,

1. Check all filters on the slicer to make sure there are no unexpected filters.
2. Try deleting the slicer and recreating it. This can sometimes force the tool to re-evaluate the data and update the slicer correctly.

Best Regards,
Gao
