I've built a matrix that shows the intersection of two sets of data. So we have a table that includes a statute, a basis, and an issue. My matrix shows basis along the top and issue down the side. It works really well except that I'd like to have the bases organized by statute. I don't need totals by statute - I just would like to show the statute above the basis so that they're sorted correctly. Is there a way to do this? FYI, I've tried adding the statute and the basis as the Columns but it seems to just show the one I put on the top.
My data is like this:
Record: statute1, basis3, issue5
Record: statute2, basis2, issue7
Record: statute1, basis3, issue7
Record: statute3, basis4, issue3
Record: statute1, basis1, issue4
(So each record includes a statute (one of five), a basis (a bunch that are organized under the available statutes), and an issue (a bunch).
This is what I have:
Basis 1 | Basis 2 | Basis 3 | … | |
Issue 1 | n | nnn | n | |
Issue 2 | nn | n | nnn | |
Issue 3 | nnn | nnn | nnn | |
… |
Here's what I want:
Statute 1 | Statute 2 | |||
Basis 1 | Basis 3 | Basis 2 | … | |
Issue 1 | n | nnn | n | |
Issue 2 | nn | n | nnn | |
Issue 3 | nnn | nnn | nnn | |
… |
Any thoughts would be helpful!
Robin
Hi,
According to your description, i am confused about your requirement.
Could you please share some sample data screenshot and expected result more clearly?
And i try some data, maybe you want like this?
Expect your reply!
Best Regards,
Giotto Zhi
Sticking both fields as columns should work, you might just need to expand down a level in the visual
If I select Drill down then I can select a datapoint to drill down on but not all of them. If I go down a level in the hierarchy, then the top row disappears and the bases are not sorted by the group anymore.
