Grouping a Matrix

Sticking both fields as columns should work, you might just need to expand down a level in the visual
If I select Drill down then I can select a datapoint to drill down on but not all of them. If I go down a level in the hierarchy, then the top row disappears and the bases are not sorted by the group anymore.
