Grouping Window Appears Small – No Option to Resize
Hello Team,
I noticed that the Groups window in Power BI Desktop (when using the "New group" feature on a field) now opens in a much smaller size than it used to. It’s difficult to view or manage grouped values properly, and there’s no option to resize the window.
Details:
Power BI Desktop version: 2.144.1155.0 64-bit (June 2025)
OS: Windows 10/11
Screen resolution: [1920x1080]
Display scaling: [100% or 125%]
This behavior seems to have changed after a recent update. It used to open in a larger, more usable format. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a workaround or setting that controls the size?
Screenshot attached for reference.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Anonymous ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community and sharing the screenshot and version number. We can confirm the fixed‑size Groups window is a bug in the June 2025 release (v 2.144.1155).
As a Quick workaround:
- Close Power BI Desktop.
- Find PBIDesktop.exe (usually in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Desktop\bin).
- Right‑click > Properties > Compatibility > Change high‑DPI settings.
- Tick Override high DPI scaling and pick System (Enhanced), then reopen Power BI Desktop.
This should make the window normal size again. If you use several monitors, try opening Power BI Desktop on your main screen first, or temporarily roll back to the May 2025 build (v 2.143.1378). You can also create your groups in Power Query as a workaround.
Hope this helps. Please reach out for further assistance.
