Group similar columns into new fields in a table visualisation
- 3 years ago
You have to work it on your dataset.
Here the pbix (change the path on the power query mode).
https://we.tl/t-xq3GTV6m2e
You have to create a table like this:
UPR - TYPE - REF. - ADDRESS
To do this from your data you have to create a 3 intermidiate table (that u don't import in the model) and than use to append (union) each other and create your final fact table.A Dimension is use to create a table of single value use to filter with very good performance.
Create your star schema with the correct relationship.

Try this pbix if is what you are looking for:

Power query transform data mode
Create the table of the column name of the starting table
Remove the type value
Create a column "key" for a full match (1) on both table
Do the full outer join in a new table
Create a new column that combines Type and Columnname
At the end you have a table with Type and Subtype automatically starting by the column.
I hope I have been helpful.
It's more easier to help you if you upload your pbix.

Thank you for your quick response. From what I can tell that's not what I was after but that's my fault for my poor explanation. See the below link for example pbix and I've included easier terms to use for headings. I've also added a desired outcome table I made using cards. It will hopefully make a lot more sense. Apologies again for the initial poor description. I would like the end result to be a table or matrix visualisation though.
Cheers

Impactful Individual
You have to unpivot from power query.
If you want the pbix result you have to upload also the excel dataset.
Because power query need the connection to the data.
