Group option on table column greyed out?
Hello everyone,
I have a table with a lot of columns. I would like to group the first column (month&FY), so that a +/- appears, and that particular month can be expanded and show the data in it. I've read that by doing right click on that field you can select to group it, but the option to group appears greyed out.
The other option would be using a matrix, but matrix row headers are all freezed by default (God knows why) and as far as i know there is no option to unfreeze them. Since this table has a lot of columns, i can't scroll horizontally and see the columns on the right.
When right clicking on the header "Month&FY", Group is greyed out:
When using a matrix, all row headers are freezed, and i can't scroll to the right:
Anyone knows why that "Group" option is greyed out? Or on other the other hand, how to unfreeze row headers on a matrix?
Thanks in advance!

kinan82 , If you are looking for binning that option seem like not working on table visual. I can see that on bar.

I am able to scroll both horizontally and vertically in a matrix. Have you changed any option . Header might not freeze in non stepped layout

Hi, thank you for your answer.
I haven't changed any options on the matrix. I'm using non stepped layout.
I've read some threads mentioning this same problem, Example: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Matrix-Row-Headers-Scrolling/m-p/1429684#M602264
On the other hand, i thought that by just right clicking on the header of a column in a table and selecting "Group", that field would group, just like in a pivot table, rather than setting a custom grouping (wich is what, based on the link you shared, i understand "Grouping" does).
