Hi,
I have a simple Table in Power BI, and I need to Group the data based on this one data element shown below; So Agency is the group, and the data is listed one level below the Agencies. Any grouping like the one below will do the trick.
| Agency | Status | Created date start | Start date | Finish date | Importance | Progress |
| Agency A | ||||||
| New | 4/20/2023 | 3/31/2023 | 7/31/2024 | Hi | 77 | |
| In Progress | 4/4/2023 | 3/31/2023 | 6/2/2023 | Enh | 64 | |
| Agency B | ||||||

Thanks so much for your time.

...and what is your question?
You have your dimension "Agency" in your data model.
Bring it into your Matrix visual and add some measures etc. then you will have your grouping.
Hi @kamini ,
You can create a matrix visual with the below Fields settings, and toggle off the option "Stepped layout".
Toggle off the option "Stepped layout"
Best Regards
This is a property (difference) for these specific visual types.
A table gives you plain all data you want to see.
Matrix groups data.
It is an another kind of visualization.
What about using Matrix and switching off all subtotals/totals?
A kind workaround 🤔
Yeah, unfortunately, that doesn't do the trick and I'm not sure what you are referring to Switching off subtotals/totals. Thanks for your time.

Yes, this works for grouping and thank you; however, I need to show the grouping name only a single time. After moving to Matrix and creating a measure, I went back to table and it is grouping but repearing the Agency A, Agency B, etc. Rather than what I listed in my original request.
Thanks a lot!
So if anyone has any ideas for showing the grouping like below, I would appreciate it.
| Agency | Status | Created date start | Start date | Finish date | Importance | Progress |
