Grand Total doesn't refresh - SSAS Multidimensional Cube Live Connect

I have a PBI desktop report with a live connection to SSAS multidimensional cube. The report has a Slicer visual for Date Dimension Selection, a Slicer visual for Resource Dimension selection, a Card visual for OEE Yeild% (a calculated measure in cube) and a Matrix visual with Resource and a few Calculated Measures as columns.  

 

If I change date range, row level values change but the grand total value of calculated measures won't update. Also, the card visual won't update either. 

I read a few forums that explian how to fix grand totals with a new measure in PBI. Unfortunatley, SSAS Multidimensinal live connect won't let me create a new measure.

    Hi Anonymous 
    Unfortunately with SSAS MD and a live connection there is very little you can do in Power BI, only Data Visualisation. So the problem (either the measure or the relationships) has to be fixed on the SSAS side.

    Hi Anonymous ,

     

    Currently, only Tabular model supports to create report level measures in Power BI Desktop. For multidimensional cubes, you can't create any measures or calculated columns. Followings are the related ideas shared on Power BI Ideas forum. You can vote them up and add your comments there to improve Power BI in the feature.

    You can directly modify the measure in the model so that it returns the correct value. Or try the following steps:

    • Create a report connected live to the OLAP cube on the ssas server.
    • Publish this report to the Power BI service and share the dataset. If the server is on-prem, you will have to use a gateway.
    • Create a report connected live to the shared dataset. Then in this report, you can create measures using DAX functions.

    jeroendekk The grand totals of the measure works fine in Excel, but not in Power BI. So, I feel that measure in SSAS needs no fix.
