Hi,
I manage to connect PBI to GA4 accoun. However when I reach the step to choose dimension & metrics of GA4 data, those options doesn't show up. Instead I found warning: "The field 'description' of the record wasn't found" (see screenshot below).
I have admin access to the GA4. And I am able to see the data directly in GA4 interface, so access should not be an issue.
Any thoughts to find my way to the metrics & dimension options?
Thanks
Hi @iggybaz ,
1. Ensure that the GA4 API is configured correctly and that Power BI has the required permissions to access the data.
GoogleAnalytics.Accounts(optional options as nullable record) as table
Returns the Google Analytics accounts that can be accessed with the current credentials.
2. To connect to Google Analytics data through the new Google Analytics Data API, which supports Google Analytics 4, select Implementation 2.0 (beta).
3. More detailed information can be found at the link:

Hi @Anonymous ,
Thanks for your reply!
How can I do the step no. 1, is it in PBI? Where should I write that code?
I also have followed the steps in second link on step no. 3, I have been able to authorize connection to GA4. However, I still couldn't access the dimension & metrics of the data.
Thanks
Hi @iggybaz Were you able to find a solution? seems the 2.0 beta connector is still presenting some issues. As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party tool. I've tried windsor.ai, supemetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with Windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the GA4 connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your GA4 account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your GA4 fields:
There just select the fields you need. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
