Google Analytics 4 report in PowerBI is missing some data
- 2 years ago
hello, UA and GA4 are completely different, its not an issue from Powerbi or the conenctor, its actually Google changed the whole structure of GA, so you wont find those metrics and dimensions you once found in UA. I think google said they will add more stuff later but we'll have to wait and see
Since you have already updated to GA4 , now your GA UA properties won't receive any data but as I understand might be needed for you to keep seeing that old UA data at some moment, so it could be good if you can build an integrated report where you can see that UA and GA4 new data you are tracking. I currently use external connectors to pull both my GA and GA4. I've tried windsor.ai, supemetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the GA4 connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your GA4 account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your GA4 fields:
There just select the fields you need. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
Thank you very much for the information about online connectors, this was really helpful
