Hi there,
I have been using the GA4 connector (2.0 beta) since it showed up in June 23. In its current beta form, it appears to be quite limited in its functionality (9 dimension limit is particularly painful). With the July 2023 announcement, I was hoping the connector would have moved from a beta release to a production release, but nothing appears to have changed or been improved on. My question here is - does anyone have any idea where I can find detailed release notes for the GA4 connector, or anything that outlines how the connector works, its limitations, features, and also any planned future improvements?
You may want to move your post over to Issues - Microsoft Fabric Community, as the DEV folks circle questions added to this area frequently.

Hi @Idrissshatila 🙂,
Thank you for your response! Yes, I caught Curbal's "hack" the day she released the video. Although an awesome workaround to get the connector to actually work in June - after experimenting with multiple dataflow queries (using GA4 Dimensions & Metrics Explorer to ensure harmony between selected dims and metrics), eventually, I ran into the same issues - in particular max 9 dimensions per query.
Also, and this might have to go in another post but if you create or have a custom channel grouping in GA4 it will break the PBI connector because all dimensions apparently require a description... there is an option to add a description to your custom channel grouping in GA4 but unfortunately, that does not pass through to Google's Analytics Data API. Argh 🙄
