Getting error while changing excel file path in power bi desktop

Hi All,

I need help with this -

when we change the Excel file path in the data source option on the Power BI desktop & and apply changes, the path is not Updated.

In Power Query, we can Path updated but as I  close and apply the option in Power Query, a popup shows Power BI desktop, and it takes only time.

Thanks.

Hi @Puja_Kumari25 ,

Please try:

1.Click the Refresh button in Power BI Desktop to force a data refresh.

2.Sometimes, the issue might be related to outdated or incorrect data source credentials. Go to , select the data source, and click on . Here, you can update your credentials and ensure they are correct.

3.If your Excel file is stored on OneDrive or SharePoint, you need to use the web link for the file. Refer: Use OneDrive for work or school links in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

4.Update Power BI Desktop to the latest version and try again.

Best Regards,

Neeko Tang
