I have a "DaysLeft" measure that I created that contains the number of days (Decimal) left until a specific Plant area is completed. So for each value in my "PlantArea" column, there is a unique "DaysLeft" measure value.
I now want to get the forecast date for when each "PlantArea" will be complete. Thus, Today()+DaysLeft for that particular plant area.
I've tried:
DATEADD(TODAY(), +[DaysLeft], DAY)
but that gives me nothing 😞
Any idea how I can do this?
DateAdd only accepts Date tables as 1st argument - Today() returns a scalar value.
Calc Column = Today() + [DaysLeft] should work in your case !
@Datatouille. I've tried that, but making a column causes it to always give me the error of a circular dependency. Using a measure works, but then I can't display things in a calendar visualization 😞
How does one defeat the circular dependency error?
Hi @cornelverster,
To further investigate on the circular dependency error, could you post the formula you're using for the measure [DaysLeft], and your table structures with some sample data which can reproduce the issue? It's better to share a sample pbix file. You can upload it to OneDrive or Dropbox and post the link here. Do mask sensitive data before uploading.![]()
