Getting Data from url/ sharepoint/ onedrive from specific folder directly instead of root folder

Hi All,

 

I am trying to access one drive/share point folder from Power BI Application.

 

I dont have access to the root folder but I am having access to the sub folders. 

 

Currently we can only provide the root url link of the sharepoint folder while trying to get data from sharepoint. Is there a way we can provide url link directly to the sub folder to get the data?

    I just tried this with a test account because I was curious - the SP Folder connector does work with individual one-off shared files/folders and no root site access, assuming the share wasn't done with a sharing link. The thing is, SP Online will default to a sharing link nowadays, so you it's likely you don't have explicit permissions on the items. You can check in the ellipsis menu under manage access -> advanced.
