Get data from SSAS cube in hybrid mode
parry2k maybe I wasn't clear enough. We are connecting to a Tabular SSAS cube (RS on-prem) from a Power BI Desktop report which already has a model designed from a transactional database. We wan't to combine this two in a single report and as I've said when we try to connect to SSAS tabular cube the only option is import.
Thats no good for us. Why? Because we are building a report with data as fresh as possible (auto-refresh each 1 hour) directly from transactional database. And with Import mode there are at least two problems:
- all the data is transfered to report model each time
- all the data is transfered to report model every 1 hour
Knowing this do you still sugest an approach with Power BI datasets? If yes we need an option to publish those to an on-prem SSAS RS.
