Get data from Power BI service error - Could it be Export Data option?

Hi,

I am managing a large number of users, and I want them to be able to utilise existing datasets that have been published to the Power BI Service / Get data from Power BI Service. 

This was working, but we recently decided to turn off the ability for users to export data to Excel - for data security reasons. I think this has stopped us being able to use Power BI Service data sets as data sources - could this be the case?

Hi AnneMajor,

When you connect to power bi dataset in power bi desktop, you can only export to powerbi template as below, could you share some screenshots to clarify your problem more expicitly?
