Get Max date by group but from variable table

Normally i would this code

Max Date =
CALCULATE (
    LASTDATE ( Table[Date] ),
    ALLEXCEPT (
        Table,
        Table[ID],
        Table[Col2]
    )
)

Var= threein1

VAR MAX_ =
SUMMARIZE(Table,[id],[Col2],"MAX DATE",LASTDATE(threein1))

Return MAX_

However I am working off of a variable so when  i try to do this in lastdate function I can't reference the column from the created variable.

Hi, @user35131 ;

First SUMMARIZE() is to return a table, and here you are returning a measure:
Try it:

measure =
MAXX (
    SUMMARIZE ( Table, [id], [Col2], "MAX DATE", LASTDATE ( threein1 ) ),
    [MAX DATE]
)

 If not, can you share a simple example and the desired output? The daX alone cannot fully determine the cause. and the threein1 is measure ?

If you assign a value to a variable, it becomes a constant and any changes in the context will not affect it. In this case, you need to substitute the actual calculation for the variable.

isn't that what i'm trying to do. The calculation does not give me a result.

@user35131

Var= threein1

VAR MAX_ =

SUMMARIZE(Table,[id],[Col2],"MAX DATE", "------No Variable/Enter Actual Measure------" )
Return MAX_
