Get Data -> Salesforce Objects : Login screen refreshing

I am trying to connect to the Salesforce objects, and when I go to login the login screen appears fine, but then only refreshes and clears to blank when I actually hit login. It pops up with the wrong password message if I have typed my password incorrectly, but otherwise shows nothing new, just a newly blank login screen when I try to login. I have checked in salesforce and I can see that these login attempts are marked as successful. I have tried re-installing powerbi desktop, clearing cache/cookies, etc.

Any ideas as to what may be going on?

Turns out the issue was on Salesforce side and not PowerBI. Because PowerBI uses IE11 for authentication for Salesforce, it had to do with IE not being configured properly to work. I'm not sure which setting it was, but after following the steps at the link below I was able to get it to work. Thanks!

Hi @crockettjf I've used the Salesforce connector but I had some issues with my conection too. As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics (which doesn't have PBI as a destination, so you first have to export to Google Sheets and then export to PBI) and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:

After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:

There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor.  Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.

Hi @crockettjf ,

Try to "File" - "Options and settings" - - "Data Sources Settings", find the salesforce, then re-enter your correct credentails.

Or you can refer this thread. Hpoe it will be helpful.

If it doesn't meet your requirement, we suggest you to open a ticket here for help: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/support/
