Get AD group Name associated for Display name of User for RLS

Hello Community,

I am trying to build RLS through AD security group, I can easily add that group in RLS security in Power bi Service. So i am trying to get Group name,Display name and User Principle Name from AD.

Can anyone guide me how can i get group name from AD. All I can see Display name and User Principle Name.

When i click on groups , it shows Nulls.

Followed steps.

  • Power Query Tab
  • Click From Other Sources > From Active Directory:
  • domain name
  •  user table-->Loaded-> Expanded-> Display name & UserPrincipleName

Can anyone guide me to get Group name also. So i can easily assign that in Service instead of adding all users in RLS security.

Thanks!

You may load "group" table into power bi, please refer to this blog:
