This is kind of broad but I'm hoping for some advice on how to handle this. I have Power BI Premium, I'm using Desktop and Report Builder, and I have an On-Premises Gateway set up.
My Report Builder reports will be using stored procedures with parameters for the datasets (along with multiple datasets to populate the parameters).
Power BI desktop will be using a mix of stored procedures and straight table access.
Do I need to have a data connection with my gateway for every dataset I'm going to need? If so, how do I setup those connections to handle stored procedures with parameters?
Also, how would I reference those connections in Desktop and Report Builder?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

@gfross , for the Power Bi dataset you do not need on premise gateway.
But if dataset uses a local(on-premise) database, then you need on-premise gateway to refresh the dataset

I have my gateway installed on my server.
I can see it in my Power BI Service environment.
I have a data source setup.
I cannot see it in Power BI Desktop when I got to Get Data > Power BI Datasets.
I'm not sure what I'm missing.
I'm using a MySQL database that resides on a cloud VM. I'm not sure if thsat makes a difference or not.
