Gantt chart giving erroneous data based on date slicer

Name: Gantt 2.2.3

Publisher: Microsoft

Id: Gantt1448688115699

Version: 2.2.3

When I alter the date slicer, the data gets corrupted.  How is this happening?

I am unable to attach the PBIX file but I can if you show me where to attach.

Set the date slicer to 9/15/2019-10/31/2019

Record 09182019-032 is correct in the start and end dates of 9/19/2019 19:45 - 9/21/2019 10:45

Change the date slicer to 9/21/2019-10/31/2019

The duration becomes erroneously 39 days and the end date is changed to 10/28/2019 19:45

Another example:

Set the date slicer to 9/15/2019-10/31/2019

Record 09152019-036 is correct in the start and end dates of 9/19/2019 14:30 - 9/20/2019 16:45

Change the date slicer to 9/19/2019-10/31/2019

The duration becomes erroneously 1575 days and the end date is changed to 1/11/2024 13:30

Also - why can't use the end date but only the duration in the custom visual?

Hi @dkernen

Maybe you use it uncorrectly.

You could download an example pbix using Gantt chart.

Besides, please update Power BI Desktop to the lastest version.

You can share screenshots showing columns added into the Gantt visual.

Or you could upload your pbix file to One Drive and make the link public,

then share the link here so i can have access to your file and download it locally.

Thank you for your reply.  I have copied the file to One Drive here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AiPFJOtfNkzegeFM5i9jnEubNA2HBQ?e=kTEcmI

By simply changing the dates in the slicer, the data changes, so it seems like there is a small bug in the visual.  Please take a peek and let me know.  I really appreciate your help.

Hi @dkernen

As tested, when adding [EndDT] in the [End Date] field, the visual works.

Thank you for working on this - I really appreciate it.  I see that by adding Earliest End Date in the End Date will work, however I lose the tooltip that shows the duration (with days, hours, minutes).  It appears that only three variables are allowed in the Tooltips, but even if I delete something else, the detail of the duration changes to a single number, rather than the days/hours/minutes.  Any thoughts on that?

Any idea why the error occurs when duration is used rather than the End Date?

Can I change the restriction to only allow three variables in the tooltip?
