Gantt Chart - multiple tasks on a single row

Hi there,

I am using the xVis Gantt chart visual. I was wondering if anyone had experience using this visual, and if so, could advise me as to whether it is possible to have multiple sub-tasks on a single row?  My use-case is: a sub-task is performed in Jan-Mar, then repeated in April-May and Nob-Dec. In my snip, I have used red boxes to show how I would like the row to appear.  I'm pretty sure I've read this is possible, but I am unsure how to structure my data so that it works.

Grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Hi , @FarmingBA

According to your description, you want to show multiple tasks on a single row.

For your need , you need to make sure that the Task name is the same in one row and you can refer to my sample data.

This is my test data:

We can put the fields on the Gantt Chart like this:

Then we can open the "Group Tasks" in the Format Pane, then we can make the same Task in one row now:

Is this feature available in the free option? I can't seem to find "Group Tasks" anywhere in the format pane. Is it still available?

Got it to work by changing "Chart Type (PRO)" to GanttResource.

Super reply Aniya!

I had similar request where I have downloaded the MS Gantt Chart and used it in following manner:

1. Created a blank column [Column = ""] and placed in "Task"

2. Placed [Task] column in Legend

3. Placed Start Date and End Date in respective pill

4. Hid the Category name from the format pane

5. Chose "Grouped the tasks" option, like you have mentioned and I got this:
