GCC Tenant - Power Bi & Azure Maps Integration

Our Organization would like to activate Azure Maps for Power BI but we noticed that under Tenant Settings in the Power BI Admin Portal, this option is missing. How do we go about using Azure Maps in Power BI if our Organization is under GCC Moderate. Is Azure Maps available for GCC Tenants in Power BI?

Any update on when Azure Maps will be available in GCC?

In the last month, any time a report with a filled map or map visual is opened in Desktop, there is a pop up saying that those will be going away and replaced by Azure Maps. Trying to auto-convert existing map visuals to Azure Maps or build a new Azure Maps visual from scratch is giving us an unhelpful error message ("Can't display this visual. AzureMapsRequestErrorTitle" -- seems like a bug there in displaying the actual error message). With no communication about when to expect Azure Maps is generally available in GCC, we don't know if this is expected behavior because we can't use Azure Maps in GCC, or if we should be able to use it now, but something else is causing that issue. We don't want to get caught in a situation where we lose functionality in our reports with maps, caught in No Man's Land of GCC.

Checking in on 8/7/2025 still having the same exact scenario described above. Popup states standard maps will be replaced with Azure, but GCC is preventing use of Azure maps. Really hoping to get some update on this soon.
